Derek Vanacore
Chief Executive Officer & Founder

Derek founded Vanacore International in 1986 and promptly built the company into the largest and most successful corporate asset/inheritance recovery firms on the West Coast.  Derek began his unclaimed property career as a government licensed investigator.  For over 27 years, he has worked to reunite heirs and lost shareowners around the world, first exclusively for Fortune 100 companies and then with his own firm.  Derek focuses much of his time on industry research and trends, new business development and managing complex probate and merger/acquisition matters.

Derek studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara where he was a member of their baseball team.  In 1984, he was drafted in the first round to play for the Kansas City Royals.  After his baseball career, Derek began working for Gladding, De La Pena & Michel, Inc. where he gained his experience as a private investigator.  After Derek worked many dangerous, high profile, and highly confidential undercover cases, he decided to open his own firm.  His sincere enthusiasm for people and their stories has made him one of the most successful inheritance investigators in the State. His drive, passion and intellect are only three of his many gifts that have made him triumphant in all of his endeavors.

Derek and his wife live in El Dorado Hills with their four daughters.  He owns a yoga studio in the community and serves as a member of the board of directors for Town Center Management.
